     Stand of 365 between Rahane and Kohli was India’s 6th 350+ run partnership in Tests, highest in Tests for any wicket is 413 runs between Vinoo Mankad and Pankaj Roy.
·        365 runs stand has become the highest for India for fourth wicket.
·        Ravi Ashwin did his career best performance taking 7 wickets for 59 in an innings and 13 wickets for 140 runs in the match.
·        Ashwin took his 21st five-fers in the 39 Tests and it was his 6th ten-wicket hauls in the same number of Tests.
·        Ashwin won the 7th Man of the Series award, no other player for India has done this before. He has received 7 Man of the Series award in his last 8 series.

·        Ashwin has now 4 consecutive Man of the Series awards, only Imran Khan and Malcom Marshall have the same record.
·        It was his 2nd ten-fers in this series, he is the second Indian to do so after Harbhajan Singh, who did this in 2000-01 against Australia.
·        India’s victory of 321 against Kiwis in lastTest was the 2nd largest win in terms of runs, 339 against RSA was the biggest one for them.
·        It was India’s fourth clean sweep in a Test series with 3 or more matches, previous ones are against England in 1992-93 (3-0), Sri Lanka in 1992-93 (3-0) and Australia in 2012-13 (4-0).
·        Guptill and Latham were involved in a stand of 118 for the 1st wicket, it was first hundred runs stand of the series for New Zealand openers.
·        Ashwin has become the highest wicket-taker this year with 44 wickets in 13 innings at an average of 19.86.
·        Ashwin got Williamson out in all 4 innings he played on this tour.

Stats and Records of 250th Home Test, which Everybody Should Know

·          After winning the game in Kolkata, series is now at 2-0 and that’s how India has registered 3rd consecutive series win against New Zealand in India.
·          India has reached at the top of ICC test rankings for the forth time in test history, India is the only test team to become no. 1 team for four times.
·          It was the 250th test match for India on home soil and hosts won 89 among them. India has become the 3rd team to play 250 tests at home after England (501) and Australia (404).
·          This was only the 2nd test Kane Willaimson (53 tests) has missed since making his debut against India at Sardar Patel Stadium in November 2010. The only other test he missed was against West Indies in December 2013.
·          India is still to repeat its playing XI under Virat Kohli’s captaincy.
·          54* was Wriddhiman Saha’s maiden test fifty in a home test.
·          Kohli has become the 4th most successful captain of India who hasn’t lost any game from last 12 games eclipsing Dhoni (11) and behind to S Gavaskar (18), Kapil Dev (17), Mohd Azharuddin (14), it was the 9th win for Kohli in 16 matches eclipsing Dravid (8).
·          It was the 1st Man of the Match for Saha, he has become the 4th wicket keeper of India to get this reward after Ajay Ratra (1), Nayan Mongia (1) and Dhoni (2).
·         It is the 1st time in Indian test history, when India hasn’t lost any game at home from last 12 matches, India won 11 out of it.
·          15 batsmen got out LBW at Eden Garden, most in India beating the previous record of 13 ( versus South Africa in 1996 at Ahemadabad).
·          26 wickets were taken by the seamers at eden garden, it was the 9th time in India when fast bowlers took 26 or more wickets.
·          With an average of 26.86 Guptil has become the 3rd worst opener of world cricket ever, among those 101 openers who made more than 1500 runs.
·          Ashwin reached to the mark of 1500 tests runs, fastest to take over 200 wickets with 1500 runs in 38th test match. Ian botham did this in 41 tests.
·          It was the 6th consecutive toss win for Kohli, he has won all the toss in home tests.
·          Bhuvaneshwar kumar took 4th five wicket haul of his career in Tests and it was the 1st five-fer in a home Tests for him.

Ravindra Jadeja has dismissed Luke Ronchi for the 4th time in all the innings of the tour.
·          India became the 1st team in world cricket to win its 250th overall test and 250th match at home.
·          Saha has become the 1st Indian wicket keeper to make two unbeaten half centuries in a test and 2nd in world cricket, Garry Alexander (63* & 87*) was the only wicket keeper to achieve the feat before.
